Kati decided to upskill and accelerate her Salesforce career because…

My background is in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry. My husband and I had always planned that I would stay home when we started our family. Fast forward, and my children were entering high school by the time I shifted my focus to re-entering the workforce again.

My husband, who is a Salesforce Super User with his firm, suggested that I look at Salesforce as a way to upskill, so I found Trailhead and studied for my Admin certification. As I was trying to take a deeper dive into what I wanted to do with Salesforce for my career, I realised that I probably needed a little extra support along the way. I was particularly looking at the consultancy track, and I came across Supermums.

When I found the Supermums Consultancy course, I thought it would be a no-brainer to jump right in and try to take advantage of all the resources that they were offering.

Kati decided to upskill in Salesforce Consultancy Skills Course and Salesforce Accelerate Coaching Skills Course with Supermums because..

Imposter syndrome can really take its toll on you and having the Supermums team to coach you through that and to help you focus on what your strengths are, what your goals are and what you bring to the table, it’s a game changer, it really is.

To have a cohort who are all likeminded and offering support along the way, it’s been fantastic, it’s been life changing. I’ve created such great relationships with them. This is a whole new season of my life, and I just never even realised what it could offer, and they have given me the confidence to realise that I can go forward and pursue it. I’ve also been able to collaborate with some of them as well and get advice on projects and talk through things when we run into a challenge or roadblock.

Salesforce is this ‘Ohana’, this great support system, and then you add Supermums in there too and it gives you such a different sense of confidence, because you know you’ve got this huge amount of resource who are there to support you and help you too.

Kati was able to launch her new Salesforce career successfully because….

Everything we learned in the course complimented what I was studying to get my certification and then some. We’ve learnt so much about the processes of engaging in a consultancy project and as well as the skills that contribute themselves to any role in the ecosystem.  Everything that we learned about project management, the listening requirements for the project and the agile methodologies are very often in practice in IT roles.

I wasn’t 100% sure which direction I wanted to go with my new Salesforce skills. Even though I’ve been doing a lot over the years as a volunteer in leadership roles with foundations and non-profits, I still lacked that confidence that it takes when you’re re-entering the workforce. The Supermums Coaching team gave a talk about revaluating values and strengths, and they reminded me that I still have all of the strengths and abilities that I always had, and now I can translate it into a role with Salesforce, and really the opportunities are limitless.

Kati has now successfully achieved a Salesforce career that offers her..

There’s a catch-22 with Salesforce: you can learn Salesforce but you need the hands-on experience and I knew that it was important for me to get that, so I took about a year to do some pro-bono work with a non-profit, rolling-out Sales Cloud for them. I then went on to  work on some freelance projects. My typical day would include both networking and engaging in opportunities to learn. If I am working on projects, it could be anything from collaborating on proposals, researching solutions for business requirements, executing on solution recommendations and continuing to find ways to keep the project funnel active.

On finishing the Consultancy Skills Course I then applied and got accepted as a Business Analyst at a large US based Salesforce Consultancy.
