Denise decided to upskill and launch her Salesforce career because..
I had previously had a long career in marketing, where I specialised in B2C multi-channel marketing, predominantly for UK high street retailers. About two years ago, I decided I wanted to look for a new challenge away from retail marketing, mainly due to the increasing volatility in the UK retail sector.
I came across Salesforce and enrolled on the Supermums Admin course and Marketing Cloud Course. It was quite daunting, and there is a bit of imposter syndrome because I’m used to marketing tech but I’m not very good at using it, and I wondered if I should be going into this area. I had a friend at Salesforce, and she was supportive and said that I have the right skillset.
Denise decided to upskill in Salesforce Admin Course with Supermums because..
What was good about the Supermums course was that it didn’t just focus on getting a certification and then kick you out the door. It provided a mentor who was there every week and on call when I needed him, and who was a great support.
The Supermums Team did some coaching sessions as well, so it let us all take a step back and focus on ourselves and what was important and to look at the bigger picture and what we were trying to achieve.
Denise was able to launch her new Salesforce career successfully because….
One area that made me realise that I did have transferable skills that were valuable where I didn’t realise that previously was the part of the course on agile management. I had no idea what agile management was!
I then understood that a lot of the skills I had – I could run a multi-channel national marketing campaign in my sleep, and all the skills I was using to do that for many years -were actually elements of agile project management. It was about taking my past experience and building on it, and having the confidence in an interview to say, ‘I don’t have agile marketing experience, but I do have experience running multi-channel marketing campaigns and they are using the same skills, and this is how you do it’.
Supermums helped me land my first job as a Salesforce Admin at a non-profit initially where I could practice both Salesforce and Marketing Cloud skills thankfully.
After I had gained a year’s worth of Salesforce Admin and Marketing Cloud experience, but zero Consultancy experience, I had my interview at Slalom. I approached my interview by selling my skill set, and fortunately it worked.
Denise has now successfully achieved a Salesforce career that offers her..
I am an now Associate Salesforce Consultant for Slalom with a focus on implementing Marketing Cloud for their customers. It’s brilliant there, I absolutely love it.
I am now using Agile Project Management on a daily basis, and I now know what everything really means. I fundamentally use the skill set I already had.

Nikola, an Australian who has been living in the UK for 5 years, had been working as a florist prior to taking the Salesforce Admin course in 2020. Malik, moved to the UK in 2020 at the height of the pandemic and wasn’t sure what career path he wanted to take. His aunt suggested he learn something new, and make himself more marketable in an ever changing and unstable economic climate, and so pointed him in the direction of Supermums as a starting point. I saw Heather at Dreamforce and was so impressed with her passion and vision but more importantly, I was impressed by the structure of the Supermums programme.
As someone re-entering the workforce, I’ve really needed to pivot my focus. The Circle of Life map was very eye opening which led me to really reflect on what it may look like or what I may WANT it to look like as I embark on this new season of life. I also spent quite a bit of time reflecting on my values and turning them into more affirmations. I still have a goal to get more consistent with my journaling but the exercises have inspired me to start again and has given me a guide or roadmap for my journaling. The tools have helped me to focus on a mind set shift necessary to achieve my goals with a new career.
I love the hands on tools and homework :)! I love listening to webinars and podcasts but actually being given tools to put it into practice forces me to take action. And then seeing my thoughts and goals and reflections on paper feels like a first step in making them real. Having the bi-monthly calls is great for accountability! Last but not least, the guidance and instruction is delivered in a very thoughtful way. It isn’t intimidating or overwhelming. It’s like getting really sound advice from a friend.
I immediately ordered a success journal after listening to the Supermums coaching session. I’m now thinking of my Trello lists in a whole new way. Thanks Zoe, Heather and all the Supermum participants. I love the way the sessions always give us practical tasks to try. Easy but transformative.
One of the highlights of my fortnight at the moment is definitely the Supermums Coaching call! Heather clearly has a wealth of knowledge and expertise with respect to coaching and this always comes across in the coaching calls. The calls cover numerous tools and techniques, all of which are explained clearly.
Heather herself has a very open and welcoming style, which I’ve found has resonated with me much more than some other type of coaching I’ve been exposed to in the past. The calls are a wonderfully supportive forum for self-improvement and I look forward to reaping more benefits from them in the future!
Personally, the coaching priceless!! I would imagine many of us can benefit from coaching in various aspects of our lives, however, when someone is re-entering the workforce after an extended hiatus or perhaps up-skilling and changing career paths, it’s priceless! Both situations can cause a bit of an “identity crisis” and coaching helps individuals really dig down and identify their fears and insecurities and build upon them to become strengths. It’s like having a big sister or mentor by your side for the journey to keep encouraging you and challenging you and giving you tips to grow and become more confident in your abilities.
I think the best thing about it so far is the quality of the information because everything has been relevant to me and I wish I knew it all before I started working as a solo Salesforce Admin! The format of the course is working well for me because it’s all videos which I watch when I have spare time. The course is preparing me to do demos and presentations in real life with clients.I I would recommend it to anyone who has just passed their Admin Cert.
After completing my Admin Cert I really wanted the skills to design new systems and respond to different stakeholder needs throughout the CRM implementation process. I’ve really enjoyed the Consultancy Skills course as it has given me the confidence to deliver with a clear implementation process for projects, with tools and techniques. It’s a great flexible course to fit around my schedule with also the option to stay in touch via chatter and the weekly group coaching sessions.
The Consultancy Skills course has been a very informative experience. The course is very well structured and organized in order to guide through all the steps of an implementation process with Salesforce. Lots of valuable detailed information, templates, and checklists that will make any consultant’s life easier and deliver the best quality of work.
The Consultancy Programme has given me practical resources, and new language and concepts to use with clients and teams I interact with. I have felt much more confident, for example, describing the Agile Project Management methodology and catering for different learning styles. Having a greater understanding of change management has also allowed me to gain greater buy-in by senior leadership. I am excited to continue scale my consultancy work in the months and years ahead.
I am so glad that I listened to my intuition when I decided to take the leap and apply for a place on the MC course. This is definitely the sign for someone out there GO FOR IT!.
Supermums is one of the best Salesforce authorised vendors out there to get trained in Salesforce.
I have had such a great experience with Supermums. We discussed what courses might be appropriate for me and during the lockdown I took the opportunity to add to my consultancy and marketing skills. I am delighted that I made the decision to do these courses as I gained theoretical and practical hands on experience and had the opportunity to work with Supermums consultancy partners. The trainer was amazing, so patient and great at explaining more technical topics. The most valuable part of the course for me was access to the trail orgs which meant i was able to put into practice the theory learnt. I also thought the structure of once a week virtual lessons followed by homework worked really well.

The reason I always vouch for the Supermums program is because of the support I got, the confidence that my mentor instilled in me and the kind of assignments I did prepared me very well. I really liked having a group of people to work with and learn from. Also being able to interact with the tutors was really useful as some other courses are just pre-recorded but Supermums lessons are taught live and you can watch them back

It was great having a group of people to learn with. We all have different backgrounds and are at different levels, but we were able to support each other. I also had a mentor that I met with every week online. It was really useful to have some 1-2-1 time to ask questions and get help if I needed it.
