Soma, was a Primary School Teacher for 5 years in India, before moving to the Netherlands for her husband’s job. She found a role as a Customer Support Representative and a Freelance Digital Illustrator for 2 years. Both weren’t stable roles though and she wondered what was next for her! Her husband mentioned learning Salesforce and it sparked an interest in her. Soma is now a Jr Salesforce Admin at CloudPlease, is 5 x Salesforce certified, has 3 x Superbadges and is a Trailhead Double Star Ranger.
Soma decided to join the Supermums Admin course because…
“My husband mentioned learning Salesforce (he had worked in the ecosystem for 8 years) and it sparked an interest. I first started learning using Trailhead. I got my first cert and put it on my LinkedIn profile but by learning on my own I found that I was struggling to get a job as employers all wanted experience to go with the cert. Also, I wasn’t very confident at that time and felt that I needed more training and skills.”
“I saw Supermums via a friend on Facebook. I looked at all the success stories on your website and booked a call with a Career Coach and that really helped me believe I could do this.”
“I have no tech background or experience so I needed to know that doing another course would lead to getting a secure job to support my family and give me a good work-life balance.”
Soma was able to launch her career in Salesforce because…
“I decided to go for it and do the Supermums Salesforce Admin course as it came with work experience, a personal mentor and support from the trainer and my cohort to really succeed.”
“When I was doing my work experience, my now manager shared a job with me on LinkedIn that aligned with my skills, I applied and got the job. He knew about Supermums already from having work experience trainees previously”.
Soma’s new Salesforce career and day-to-day role entails…
“I’m a Junior Salesforce Admin at CloudPlease. We support SME’s to scale their business by implementing or growing their Salesforce. My day-to-day work involves all the administration tasks like user management, creating profiles and permissions, managing their security settings, whether it is creating custom fields, custom objects and always integrating with other systems with Salesforce and creating automation to gather the complex business scenarios.”
“I have completed 5 certifications so far – Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce App Builder, Salesforce Associate, Salesforce Platform Developer One, and recently, just a few weeks back, I completed my Sales Cloud Consultant One.”
“I mostly work with Sales Cloud and Service Cloud in my day-to-day role but have also worked on CPQ so have a basic understanding of that too.”
“My role is fully remote, which is ideal as I don’t have to travel into an office each day. I earn a great salary and am constantly learning too!”
“If you’re thinking about starting out, try not to get overwhelmed. Yes, there is a lot to learn but even with a non-technical background, you’ll be able to learn and understand and everything will fall into place!”
