This week we are talking about the 5 Communication tools to use on a Salesforce Project

Watch this quick video to get an overview on this topic from Heather Black, CEO of Supermums and lead instructor the consultancy skills course.

What’s covered? Here’s a summary:

  1. Managing Time and Budget – A Project Management Tool is needed to track task and utilisation of time and budget against the project deliverables by the team.
  2. User Requirements – A solution to log all of the functional / non-functional requirements and the associated technical requirements to be built for the system. .
  3. Communication Tools – Ideally this tool should be integrated with other tools that provide the ability to converse back and forth on project tasks and requirements. I
  4. File Sharing – Have a shared filing solution where clients can share information with the Salesforce team to avoid things getting lost in emails and no single source of truth to store things.
  5. Process Mapping Tool – Use a process mapping software to map out before and after processes and produce documents such as a Object entity diagram.

When we asked the Salesforce Ohana what there favourite tools were for Project Management (quite often two systems are used – for internal and client facing communication), these were the four most commonly cited:
•Jira and Confluence
•Asana (with Slack and Flowsana)
•Taskray
•Trello
