If you have passed your Salesforce Admin Cert but struggling to get a job then it’s time to do a sense check. What are other people doing to get their profile head and shoulders above yours!

At Supermums there are a number of recommendations we make to help you get your foot in the door and to make your CV or Resume stand out.

Let’s be clear, it is a competition, it is cut throat and there are plenty of other fish in the sea. You have to be best you can be to relaunch your career and to land that first job. Those that make just the minimum effort won’t be successful, it will be those that make the extra effort that land the best package and salary and win hands down!

The question is do you want to be leading the race or being the one lagging behind? If you want to get to the finishing line then lets put as many of the following recommendations in place today..

1. Admin Certification Hat Trick

Once you’ve passed your Admin Cert, it’s relatively easy to progress and secure your App Builder and Advanced Admin Certs as some of the content overlaps and some of the other content new but essential for a Salesforce Admin role.. Don’t delay just get the the hat trick.

2. Add Consultancy Skills to your Bow

Consultancy Skills include Business Analysis, Agile Project Management and Change Management, and would be deemed essential skills for any solo Admin or Salesforce Consultant role. These skills can also help you increase your confidence and land a higher salary (up to 10k more) from the get-go. Margaret, a Supermum Consultancy Skills Course Alumni, found learning these skills amazing for building her confidence and landing her first role. Listen to her story below and learn more about our Consultancy Skills Course

“I have been able to speak confidently in interviews as I had the foundation knowledge to answer questions, for example, how to explain the difference between Waterfall and Agile methodologies. I think anyone can benefit from the Consultancy Skills Course. Every week we dig deep into content and I’m learning ALOT. With on-demand training, templates and live training, it covers all of the different angles that we need to know. I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s seriously increased my confidence. I am thinking ‘I can 100% do this’ after doing the course, because I have all of the reference material to use in practice when I work with clients.“

3. Niche Product Knowledge

Sales Cloud and Service Cloud are your mainstream clouds for most clients, NPSP if you want to work with non-profits, or Marketing Cloud. Go deep into learning one of the Clouds and build a really great demo that firstly cements your knowledge beyond trailhead and shows off your skills and abilities. Do a recording of your demo and share the video as part of an interview. Within our Consultancy Skills Course we also include 2 free certification prep days for Sales Cloud and Service Cloud valued at £600/$900 each. We also offer a Marketing Cloud Course that would suit those with a Marketing Background.

4. Ask for References

Ask for references on your Linked In profile from people who have experienced your work ethic and ideally Salesforce experience first hand. Ideally you should have a mentor who can verify your work and skills, or someone who has overseen your work experience or training. These individuals can act as referees for you. Include these references on your CV/Resume as well. For people that participate on the Supermums Salesforce Admin Course they can access three references from their one to one mentor, work experience mentor, and trainer.

5. Work with a Recruiter

Work with a Recruiter that can help you prepare your CV, best present your skills and knowledge, sell you into companies and get you ready for interviews. They will become your best friend if you know how to manage a relationship with a recruiter well! You need to pro-actively maintain regular frequent communication with your recruiter to show your enthusiasm to land a job. If you are at the top of their mind then they are likely to sell you into jobs more frequently – don’t forget they are dealing with a host of candidates and onboarding new ones daily. If you want to work with a Recruiter get connected with the Supermums Recruitment Team today.

Best of luck with your job hunt. Let us know how you get on!

We would love to hear if you landed a role with these top tips.
