By Heather Black

Do you want to know how to find your motivation to accelerate your Salesforce career in 2025? Throughout January we’re sharing a series of blogs that will help you get motivated to have a fabulous year because you consciously made it happen!
We are going to be looking at the following areas with reflections from the Supermums community:
- How to motivate yourself to take action in 2025
- How to overcome obstacles in 2025
- How to boost your confidence in 2025
- How to achieve your Salesforce career goals in 2025
In Part 2, we look at how to overcome your obstacles and figure out where your challenges exist.
At Supermums, we talk about a coaching model called NLP logical levels. This coaching model helps people explore and figure out where issues might arise based on six key areas. It helps to highlight where limiting beliefs might be or where something is holding you back.
- Purpose – What difference will this learning make to your life? Are you clear on your big ambition to drive your motivation to learn?
- Identity – Who do you want to become as a Salesforce professional? Do you know what job role you are aiming for?
- Values & Beliefs – Do you believe you can achieve what you want to be? Are you operating in a growth mindset rather than a fixed mindset!
- Capabilities – Do you feel you are learning in a way that suits your learning style? Perhaps the style of training isn’t quite right for you which is why it’s difficult.
- Behaviour – Are you enjoying what you are learning and are excited about your career goals? Do you feel it’s going to help you fulfil your goals?
- Environment – Do you feel you have the right supportive environment to learn? Do you have the right support at home or the right technical equipment to give you time to study?
It can often be useful to work with a mentor/coach to talk through your challenges and help you overcome them on your journey as sometimes we can’t identify the problem yourself and we need someone to ask these questions of us and to really probe the answers.
Below are some of the quotes from trainees that decided to invest in the Supermums Admin Course. Their mentors helped them overcome their challenges and boosted their confidence each week to motivate them:
The mentor was one of the reasons I signed up to Supermums, otherwise I would have been scared to fail. He was there every week for our call, and it was important for me because I built my homework around our discussions. The mentors instantly know what’s wrong, which step you’ve missed. Supermums are very good at putting you in the position of a consultant: they don’t give you all the answers – just enough for you to know what to do.”
Erika, Mum of 2 from France, living in UK
“I found the mentorship immensely useful. We set up weekly meetings and I’d go through anything I was stuck on. Having that mentor there as a support network, to help you understand what you’re learning was really helpful. That’s one of the best things about the program.”
Kully, Mum of 2, UK
“The reason I always vouch for the Supermums program is because of the support I got, the confidence that my mentor instilled in me, and the kind of assignments I did prepared me very well. When I started my job there was nothing I didn’t know how to do or know how to figure out. I had been doing much of it in my Supermums program already. My mentor had valuable experience and as she reviewed my coursework, she shared tips and tricks about how to do things faster and more effectively. I was able to do exceptionally well at my work.“

Creating a Mentoring Relationship
Agree SMART Outcomes and Goals – specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-framed. For example our Supermums mentors will work with our clients over 6 months. Each week there are clear outcomes and deliverables to be achieved as part of the training curriculum and the mentor supports the mentee to complete the weekly homework. At the end of the six months, the focus is securing the Admin certification and landing a job.
Understanding Learning Styles – Learning styles are approaches to or ways of learning. They are preferred ways of interacting with, absorbing, and processing information. There are several classified learning styles but the three main learning styles include: Visual, Auditory, and Kinaesthetic. Most people experience one learning style that dominates, although some individuals have a balance between all three. Ask your mentor to teach you with your preferred learning style by searching for VAK Test online.
Creating a Mentoring Plan – Agree on how, when, and where are you meeting. Make it a routine so there is accountability towards outcomes and goals unless something sudden comes up that they need support with. Agree on the boundaries for communication in-between meetings, e.g. phone calls and emails so you both know what is reasonable.
We provide mentoring across a number of our Salesforce courses to support learners on their learning journey. to overcome challenges along the way. Find out more about how a mentor can help you achieve success.
