Changing career can feel like a big risk for most people. So how do you change career? How do you get your foot on the ladder? Do you need to take a pay cut? How do you upskill in new technology and create a niche for yourself? So many questions…

With certain industries, such as retail, feeling a real pinch right now due to Covid-19, we are seeing redundancies of more traditional roles and individuals exploring other options as their normal industry is no longer a career option.

This week we explore how people have shifted their career into the Salesforce and technology space and what you need to do, to change career successfully.

Here are 5 things we see as the key ingredients to achieve success.

  • Understand what people want to see on a CV to plan your course of action by speaking to training or recruitment specialists.
  • Participate in reputable quality assured training to learn from the best and suit a training style that suits you so you really grasp the concepts.
  • Seek valuable work shadowing and real experience to put on your CV working alongside experienced professionals
  • Secure professional references who can verify your practical work so you can add these to your CV and Linked In Profile.
  • Invest and secure the necessary certifications to be competitive be it salesforce or related credentials such as business analysis, project management, coaching or change management.

We package these different elements into our Salesforce admin course to give people the best chance at securing their first role.

This week we look at a couple of case studies of people who have upskilled and changed their direction successfully.  Plus you can register for our next Career Jam to ask your questions directly to people who have been in your shoes.
