Calling all PTAs

Hands up if you’re knee-deep in planning your Christmas Fayre? Frustrated at the lack of support? Feel like the same people are running around like crazy to make things happen? Well you’re not alone.

We’ve got our heads together at Supermums HQ and along with our amazing Supermums, we’re looking to support your PTA to implement Salesforce. We all know and love Salesforce, but how can it help you navigate some of the everyday stresses when running a PTA (and help make major events run more seamlessly) I hear you ask? Well, here are three ways Salesforce can help your PTA to make more money, with less effort:

Improve Communication

How do you currently communicate between your group? It’s likely to be a combination of What’sApp/Messenger/Email and a few grabbed moments in the playground at drop off. Perhaps you log into an email address to send communications, but often find important emails which come in after they need to be actioned. A key to building support is to communicate regularly with other parents, teachers and community groups, but perhaps you have no clear record of who these people are, or how to reach them. And then there’s GDPR…

The good news is that Salesforce gives you a clear view of all your stakeholders, their contact details and communications preferences and interactions with you, so you could search for people willing to help at a particular event, find out who manages a certain stall, and send an email communication to everyone thanking them for their support.

Save time on tasks

A busy, working group of parents run our PTA, and it changes annually. Historical events are mapped out on spreadsheets here and there, but having a changing group makes collaborating tricky, and we often have to duplicate efforts on an annual basis for some events. With Salesforce you can see how many sausages you purchased for last years’ Social, how many sold, and how many people attended.

Tracking your efforts against income

Spreadsheets probably come in to play here, but how can you track income from a particular event, and measure it against the previous year? Which events are worth the time and effort, and which could you improve? By tracking this information in Salesforce you can run reports and dashboards which show you at a glance, so you can plan your activities with more certainty.

Sounds like you could do with Salesforce?

We have 10 mums ready to undertake their work experience on the Supermums Programme (where they’re learning to become certified Salesforce Admins) and will be looking for suitable PTA projects, to help get your Salesforce up and running. To qualify, you’ll need to:

  • Have your PTA registered as a Charity, and have a Charity Commission Number.
  • Be able to designate a point of contact who will act as your PTAs Project Coordinator, working with our Supermum.
  • Be ready to start on 8th January 2019 or 4th February 2019m
  • Be able to give 12 hours of your time over an 8 week window, so our Supermum can train you fully in how to get the best from your system.

To talk to us about the programme in more detail, please contact Debra to arrange a chat.
