The majority of our trainees want to retrain in Salesforce so they can find a career that will give them more balance and thankfully it’s the benefit that they all shout about when they land their dream job. It doesn’t happen overnight but 75% of our trainees land a job in 3 months from the day they start looking.

Over the last year, the topic of balancing parenting and a career has certainly taken a league of it’s own with lockdown sending us into a whole new spectrum of finding balance and jugging responsibilities. All employers have had to take steps to support families whilst also looking at how they can sustain jobs and their business, it’s not been an easy balance.

There are some top tips that I have been sharing around the world on my Salesforce User Group presentations to help women survive and thrive at this time:

  • Be open and honest about the flexibility you need so you don’t get burn’t out, otherwise you are no good to anyone.
  • Be aware of your own needs, tune in to what makes you happy and make time to get balance so you can perform at your best at work and with family
  • Re-define roles and responsibilities with families and co-workers to get the right workload and don’t hesitate to revisit and change it, if it’s not working out.
  • Access support to get the help you need, whether it’s coaching, a mentor or a friend. It’s very important to talk things through and get the relevant support you need.

I encourage you to reflect, take action and ownership to strengthen your current position.
