What is Salesforce?
Salesforce is the world’s #1 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
What is CRM? Think of it like a special toolbox for businesses, or a big address book combined with a personal assistant. It helps businesses organize and manage all the information about their customers in one easy-to-access place. Having a full 360-degree view of customers makes it easier to understand them, so services offered by the business can be tailored to customers’ specific needs – which then promotes overall satisfaction.
In simple terms, Salesforce is like a supercharged customer organizer that helps businesses keep their customers happy and coming back for more. That’s a win-win for both the business and its customers!
Salesforce is trusted by 150,000 companies globally, 30,000 non-profits including 99% of Fortune 500 customers. These customers span a whole range of industries from health to retail to automotive and beyond. The demand by companies to implement and manage a CRM continues to grow especially with an ever growing virtual workplace. Salesforce have predicted 11.6m new jobs will be created by 2028 but currently there isn’t enough talent to service current demand never mind future demand.
Would you like a flexible and well paid career?
With more and more businesses adopting the use of Salesforce worldwide, career prospects in the Salesforce ecosystem are progressively increasing. Though the need for specialization has grown more significant, the demand for positions like Admin, Developer, Consultant, Architect, and Analyst remain. There’s always lots of room for career progress depending on where you want to excel (and the pay is pretty competitive too!).
How do i learn Salesforce?
Salesforce offers so many different career options, all validated by ‘getting certified’. As a beginner, you can pick one of many paths which include: Associate, Administrator, Consultant, Developer, Architect, Designer, and Marketer. The highest level of certification in Salesforce is a Technical Architect and having this certification signifies your mastery of the platform’s technical architecture and design concepts.
While experience and hands-on practices are still the best ways to learn and hone your Salesforce skills, certification exams make sure you’ve mastered theoretical concepts, and you get a shiny badge to put on your LinkedIn profile so others in the ohana (Hawaiian for community) can celebrate your success.
There are a wide array of training resources such as Trailhead to support your self study, or you can choose a Salesforce Training Provider (like Supermums) who can help guide you through relevant courses aimed at a certain career path to help you not only learn, but understand, gain work experience and set you up for success.
