Reporting to: Technology Development & Release Manager

We are supporting our client, a UK-based, faith-led charity, in the appointment of a Salesforce Developer.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist technology team supporting a complex, multi-cloud Salesforce environment that underpins critical services across debt support, fundraising, HR, volunteering and partnerships.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing, customising, integrating and maintaining the organisation’s Salesforce platform. Working closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Administrators and Product Owners, you will translate requirements into secure, scalable and high-performing solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing clean, test-driven code using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL and JavaScript.
  • Building and maintaining Salesforce integrations, including error handling, logging and retry frameworks.
  • Developing reusable components and supporting the balance between declarative and programmatic solutions.
  • Managing code through Git and source-driven development processes, including testing, branching and code reviews.
  • Supporting Agile delivery and taking ownership of technical tasks from planning through to deployment.
  • Contributing to platform sustainability, security, performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring relevant development complies with regulatory and quality requirements.

About You

Essential:

  • 2–3+ years’ experience as a Salesforce Developer.
  • Strong experience with Apex, LWC, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL and JavaScript.
  • Good understanding of modern software development and the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience developing within regulated environments.

Desirable:

  • Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, NPSP or Financial Services Cloud experience.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I or equivalent certification.
  • REST/SOAP integrations and event-driven architecture experience.
  • Agile/product-led environment experience.
  • Charity-sector experience.

You will also need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, personal reliability and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

The Organisation

Our client is a Christian, values-led organisation committed to supporting people experiencing financial hardship.

Faith is central to its culture, with prayer, worship and Christian values forming part of the working environment. The organisation is committed to an inclusive and supportive working environment. As this is a Christian organisation, a genuine Christian faith and willingness to participate in prayer and worship are requirements of the role.
