So what does it mean to be a Salesforce Admin? An admin can wear many hats, and the variety in the role can be the most rewarding.

Being a Salesforce Administrator is an important responsibility especially if you are solely in charge of managing a system. Your role will entail keeping a CRM system and its data managed, secure and trusted, whilst also developing a system that meets the need of the team to perform now and in the future.

To help an administrator get clear on their responsibilities we have compiled a list of 40 tasks that a Salesforce Administrator would typically need to think about when managing a system. Sign up to the replay videos of the Awesome Admin Event below and benefit from a FREE handy checklist download and quiz to benchmark your skills.

Supermums Founder & CEO, Heather, presented on how to be an Awesome Admin at Dreamforce in 2019 and talked about the four persona’s of an #awesomeadmin, these are also know as the different types of roles. These include:

Security Management

Imagine yourself as the Guardian of the System protecting who, when and how people have access to what. Within Security Management, considerations at a strategic level include Data Management, User Access and Password Policies. Failure to manage data securely could result in a data breach, financial penalties, reputational risk and worse case personal liabilities.

System Management

Imagine yourself as the Doctor for the System, undertaking health checks, triaging problems and prescribing solutions. Within System Management, considerations at a strategic level include Case Management, Error Logs and Critical Updates Failure to manage a system properly could result in automation fails, customer issues, reputation risk, and user Frustration.

Data Management

Imagine yourself as the Housekeeper of the system, keeping all of the data nice and tidy for the users to trust and use effectively. Within Data Management, considerations at a strategic level include data integrity, business rules and data deletion. Failure to manage data properly, can result in poor data integrity which can lead to low user trust/ adoption, poor customer intelligence and unusable performance management data.

CRM RoadMap

Imagine yourself as the Leader of the CRM Strategy! You need to look to the future and sell a vision that benefits the success of your organisation and team. By leading a CRM Roadmap, you are learning and educating your organisation on the possibilities to empower users to use and evolve their system by introducing or integrating new functionality or systems to maximise business value. Failure to share knowledge and possibilities with colleagues internally can result in multiple systems, data silos, lack of Customer Intelligence, poor Business Performance and low value in CRM.
