Our client is a well‑established creative‑industry training provider has delivered vocational study programmes, apprenticeships and adult learning for over twenty years. Their mission‑led culture focuses on developing talent and transforming lives through education, supported by a strong digital backbone. Key internal teams include Recruitment & Admissions, Programme Delivery, Data & Insight and Operations.
Role Details:
The organisation has a mature Salesforce environment (10 full admin licences and 35 Lightning licences) used daily by the recruitment team to manage the applicant journey from first enquiry through to enrolment. The platform incorporates embedded forms and several key integrations (PICS, SimpleSignatures and other education‑sector tools). While data management is critical, reporting remains under‑developed, providing a clear opportunity for improvement.
You will act as the technical owner of Salesforce, driving continuous enhancement while being overseen by the IT Manager (who currently manages three staff). The role is designed for 21 hours per week across three days, with a preference for on‑site collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build custom Salesforce applications tailored to business needs
- Customize and optimize Salesforce workflows and processes
- Integrate Salesforce with external systems and platforms
- Troubleshoot and debug issues within the Salesforce ecosystem
- Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to gather and implement requirements
- Enhance the user experience across Salesforce solutions
- Optimize data workflows to ensure efficient processing and reporting
- Develop dashboards and analytics tools to support data-driven decisions
- Stay current with Salesforce technologies, trends, and updates
Requirements
- Proven experience implementing and customising the Salesforce Platform
- Understanding of Education Cloud, particularly in the further/higher education sector
- Familiarity with higher/further education processes such as admissions and enrolment
- Hands-on experience with Flows & Workflows
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with key stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions
- Understanding of third party app integration
Desirable (Good to Have)
- Salesforce certifications (e.g. Platform Developer I, App Builder, Admin)
- Experience with Apex, JavaScript, SOQL
- Understanding of Lightning, Visualforce, and automation tools
- Basic knowledge of Python or SQL
- Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical audiences
