Junior Functional Consultant (Salesforce)

 

Salary: £35,000 per annum

Employment Type: Hire-Train-Deploy (HTD) – 18 to 24 months

Future Opportunity: Permanent employment with the end client, subject to performance and business requirements

Future Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office) upon permanent transition

Locations: Multiple UK locations available (London, Newcastle, Leeds, or Manchester)

 

About the Opportunity

 

Our client is looking for a Junior Functional Consultant to join their growing Customer Success and Service Management team through a Hire-Train-Deploy (HTD) programme.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on consulting experience while working alongside experienced Salesforce professionals. During the 18–24 month HTD period, you’ll receive ongoing development and practical project experience before transitioning into a permanent role with the client, where you’ll move to a hybrid working model (3 days per week in the office).

Key Responsibilities

Customer Success & Service Delivery

  • Manage and take ownership of a portfolio of customer support and enhancement requests through to resolution.
  • Analyse business requirements and provide clear solution recommendations and effort estimates.
  • Deliver solutions following Salesforce best practices and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Demonstrate completed solutions to customers when required.
  • Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Customer Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders.
  • Participate in customer workshops to gather and clarify business requirements.
  • Communicate proactively with customers via phone, email, case management tools, and virtual or face-to-face meetings.
  • Ensure customers receive ongoing value through exceptional service and continuous engagement.

Continuous Improvement

  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned customer environments and business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer solutions and service delivery.
  • Stay informed about Salesforce releases, new platform features, and best practices.
  • Share recommendations with customers and internal teams to maximise platform value.
  • Promote reusable solutions and continuous improvement across customer engagements.

 

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Working knowledge of the Salesforce platform.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification or currently working towards Salesforce certifications (Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder and/or Cloud certifications).
  • Experience in a customer-facing, support, or consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a clear, business-friendly way.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.

Desirable

  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, or Service Management environments.
  • Experience working with Salesforce implementations or managed services.
  • Experience presenting or demonstrating solutions to customers.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce release cycles and platform enhancements.

 

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must:

  • Be currently based in the UK with the right to work in the UK.
  • Be able to successfully obtain and maintain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance.
  • Be willing to work in a hybrid environment (3 days per week in the office) once transitioning to a permanent role with the client.
