We are delighted to announce that Heather, Supermums CEO and Founder, has been announced as one of the winners in the We are Tech Women 100 Awards 2020.

‘It is incredible to have been nominated as one of the winners along with so many other inspiration women. I’m delighted to have led and inspired many other mums to follow in my footsteps and carve out a flexible career in the Salesforce ecosystem.

The recognition and support from the WeareTechWomen is invaluable and gives me the confidence to continue to expand our programme and help more mums (and dads) in the future.’

Heather Black, Founder and CEO, Supermums

What are the WeareTechWomen Awards?

Since they launched in 2017, WeAreTechWomen have set a strategic objective to use the awards to highlight 1,000 future female tech leaders by 2025. So far they have celebrated the success of over 275 incredible women, alongside outstanding tech networks, senior champions who are driving change and companies who are doing their upmost to support the careers of their female technologists.

Now in its fourth year, the TechWomen100 awards look to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women working in technology and showcase emerging tech talent, rising stars and role models in the industry.

Who are Supermums?

Supermums is a digital skills training programme which empowers mums to get back to work with Salesforce CRM skills, coaching and work experience. The programme helps to increase the number of women in technology and shines a spotlight on what’s possible for working women. It has empowered a highly experienced and flexible Salesforce workforce, as well as helped meet demand for Salesforce skills amongst non-profit organisations.

With approx. 45 million mums in the world and technology being the fastest growing sector, why aren’t there more mums in tech? Only one in six tech specialists in the UK are women, yet they make up nearly half (47%) of the UK workforce. One in ten of those currently occupy senior management positions. There is a still a great deal of work to do to encourage diversity within technology and Supermums is a programme which does exactly that.

The now global programme, was founded in the UK in 2016 by mother of two, Heather Black. When Heather’s eldest daughter was born, she continued to work flexibly around her family down to using Salesforce where she could work from anywhere anytime.

To date, we’ve helped over 300+ mums and dads since we started on 2016, giving them career options and the chance to take on new challenges at the same time as managing the demands of parenthood. What makes Supermums unique is that it is helping bring the flexibility offered by being able to train and work entirely remotely to a section of the workforce that can really benefit – new mums and dads.
