Dr Jo Salter MBE, Britain's first female fast jet pilot

Guest Speaker

Dr Jo Salter MBE

Britain’s first female fast jet pilot

Jo made history in 1992 when she earned her wings and completed fast jet training on the Tornado GR1 — becoming the UK’s first female fast jet pilot. Posted to the legendary Dambusters 617 Squadron as a Flight Lieutenant, she enforced no-fly zones over Iraq and commanded in environments where she was, for years, the only woman in the room.

Today she brings that same decisiveness to business — as Director of Global Transformative Leadership and Global Advisor on GenAI at PwC, where her work has helped upskill more than 270,000 people. Awarded her MBE by Prince William and an Honorary Doctorate from Bournemouth University, she is the author of two books on personal energy and mindset — and was named the No.1 motivational speaker for corporate events in 2025.
