Day in the life: Lucy, Salesforce Project Manager

Lucy was looking for a more flexible well-paid career that enabled her to achieve a work-life balance when she came across Salesforce Supermums.

Lucy Fyleman

Flexibility is something the majority of our trainees are looking for when they decide to embark on a career in salesforce.

Working in a role with Salesforce CRM mean’s you can work from anywhere as along as the company culture supports flexibility and the job role lends itself to this type of role. Lucy secured a role at School for Social Entrepreneurs managing their Salesforce system, following graduation and job placement support from the Supermums programme. Lucy tells us what her life is like now.

Lucy decided to upskill and launch her Salesforce career because..

  • Course: Salesforce Admin Course
  • Region: EMEA
  • Sector: Charitable Organisations

My work background was in the charity sector, mainly working with vulnerable women. I was ready to do something different and wanted a skill that would enable flexible, remote working. I had previously worked with Access Databases in my role, and I enjoy data and analytics. I think Salesforce is a fantastic product for charities and moving into a career in Salesforce felt like the natural progression for me.

Lucy decided to upskill in Salesforce Admin course with Supermums because..

The work experience was really important; actually getting to work on a project and see it being delivered really boosts what you can do and your sense of achievement. It was also really important in terms of understanding how Salesforce partners work and best practice models.

From a learning perspective, I appreciated having input from a variety of sources including our trainer, mentor and peers. There was a lot of joint learning which was great. They were all an incredibly valuable part of the learning experience.is intense but provides an amazing foundation knowledge in Salesforce customisation.

Lucy was able to launch her new Salesforce career successfully because….

Supermums is a great course. For me, it really pushed me into action. I’ve learnt how to develop Salesforce and how to project manage, and I’ve taken this on board in my current job.

The support finding work in the field was invaluable. The Supermums Recruitment Team helped me find my current job!

Lucy has now successfully achieved a Salesforce career that offers them..

I’m currently working as a Salesforce Project Manager for the School for Social Entrepreneurs, a job which the Supermums recruitment team helped me find.

I’m enjoying the organisation and the job, and my days are very varied. I’m loving the opportunity to utilise my strategic and problem-solving skills. I love finding the solution that helps people in their jobs. Those things give me a real buzz.

The flexible working has enabled me to reduce the hours I commute and enabled me to create a better work-life balance. Now I get to work a day a week from home. The organisation that I work for is really flexible and it has made a real difference to my life.
