The Public Fundraising Manager leads the public fundraising programme including individual giving, digital, community & events and legacies to deliver long-term, sustainable income. These income streams currently provide approximately £250k of income per year.

 

Key Deliverables:

  • Develop and deliver the public fundraising programme to generate agreed annual targets in line with the budgets and KPI metrics set.
  • Be the expert in individual giving, community and legacies, adopting an insight-led approach and advising other internal teams on work relating to this area.
  • Focus on new acquisition and retention to scale growth in unrestricted mass giving programme, securing sustainable income.
  • Lead on the management of the database for Fundraising, including GDPR.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the development and delivery of the public fundraising programme, working with colleagues across the organisation, to generate agreed annual targets in line with the charity’s plans.
  • Be the charity’s expert in public fundraising, adopting an insight-led approach and advising other internal teams on work relating to this area.
  • Lead on the management and development of the database for Fundraising, including GDPR
  • Use a range of direct marketing channels and techniques to recruit and retain supporters across multiple products, including cash, regular giving, digital lead generation, events and legacies.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, creative and effective new fundraising products and initiatives, and drive forward innovation in public fundraising.
  • Work with the comms team to develop our client’s supporter journey, using data analysis and insights to ensure the effective stewardship of supporters.
  • Ensure efficient and effective supporter care is carried out by the team and build good relationships with supporters to maximise income generation.
  • Working with young women to amplify fundraising programme
  • Set, monitor and report on income and expenditure budgets, key performance indicators and the annual work plan.
  • Ensure all supporter records are kept up-do-date on the database and adhere to all relevant legislative and regulatory obligations relating to fundraising.

 

Essential Experience:

  • Raising significant sums from individual giving and one of community & events or legacies.
  • Programme planning, budgeting and reporting.
  • Delivering large scale complex fundraising campaigns that recruit, engage, inspire and retain donors.
  • Analysing data to successfully adapt and improve activity.
  • Managing third party suppliers/agencies.
  • Successfully leading work across teams.
  • Using a donor database.

 

Essential Skills & Attributes:

  • Knowledge of fundraising trends, techniques, and best practice in public fundraising and UK fundraising landscape.
  • Ability to grow and leverage a charity’s supporter base.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a fluent writing style and the ability to communicate effectively in a wide range of media and audiences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders..
  • Target focused and results driven
  • The ability to consistently model the organisation’s values.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of using Salesforce for fundraising
  • Understanding of the issues facing young women, especially those living on low or no pay
